Darling Harbour offers one a number of restaurant options, from the fine dining to the fast food variety. However if you are looking for something in between, try out
Chinta Ria . This restaurant is a Malaysian Restaurant that offers hawker and modern style dishes.
The first thing that catches your attention as you walk through the large wooden doors is the huge laughing Buddha. The sweet scent from the incense sticks will draw you in. The ambience is simple and fun. But what makes Chinta Ria so popular is the absolutely delicious food with a fantastic combination of flavour and spice. The menu is quite extensive and offers a number of Vegetarian options. The waiters are attentive and offer quick service without being intrusive. They have an option of indoor and outdoor seating and on a beautiful day I would recommend sitting outside and enjoying the stunning views of the harbour.
My husband and I have frequented this restaurant for a couple of years now. We even had our Engagement party here. And the food has consistently been good. Our favourite dish is the Mee Goreng (Indian Style) which I would highly recommend. You may want to rock up early if you want to avoid waiting in line for a table (they do not take reservations). However even the wait is worthwhile. So if you are at Cockle Bay Wharf and want to enjoy some good food and a vibrant atmosphere without spending a fortune then Chinta Ria is the place for you.
%%Price: About $40 for two people
Location:Its discreet location can make it a little hard to find the first time. From the Imax, continue walking until you reach Aria Restaurant and then take the escalator up two floors to the Roof Terrace and you will find Chinta Ria on your right. %%
