The Chinese New Year is one of the biggest events on the capital's calendar and features tons of free entertainment for the whole family.
Although the Chinese New Year actually begins on the 23rd of January in 2012,
the main celebrations will take place on Sunday the 29th of January.
Head to Trafalgar Square at noon to witness the start of the festivities - expect to see traditional dance performances, music events, and special shows with colourful Chinese dragons and lions providing the entertainment.
Make your way through Chinatown and marvel at the special decorations on display, before heading to Shaftesbury Avenue to enjoy more of what this lively annual event has to offer.
If you start to get a bit peckish (or cold!), head for one of Chinatown's many fine restaurants for a bite to eat before venturing out again to rejoin the party.
London's Chinese New Year celebrations have been held in their current form since 2002 and attract more than 300,000 people from London and beyond.
London's Chinatown is one of Europe's biggest and busiest and goes back more than 50 years when immigrants from Hong Kong came to settle in the UK's capital city.
It's estimated by the London Chinatown Chinese Association that the area is home to some 220 businesses, 180 of which are Chinese-run.
