Thailand - the sweet, sour, spicy and bitter aromas of Thai food waft down the streets day and night. The variety of curries and salads certainly tickle the taste buds.
However if your struggling to get to South East Asia's assorted restaurants and pure shores, you can always head down to Chiangmai Thai, for a taste of Thailand's flavoursome cuisine.
Friendly waiters greet with customers with fast service, who then lay napkins after sitting you down on wooden elephant thrones.
If you prefer the outside, the lavish green gardens, hut-like booths and colourful fairy lights capture the authenticity of a true Thai eatery - you need not get on a plane.
The menu provides broad spectrum of tastes to choose from. Entrees and mains consist of a choice of duck, lamb, chicken, fish, prawns and a decent selection of tofu and vegetable dishes.
Money bags, green and red curries, chicken cashew and pad Thai are traditional favourites on the menu. There's steamed rice or coconut rice costing $5 for a generous bowl that will serve up to three. On a quiet night, the atmosphere is pleasant and the generous meals arrive within twenty minutes.
Note: the giving nature of the Thai people may force you to ask for a container for tomorrows left overs.
It is advised to book on weekends and toward the end of the week, as they are a popular dining venue.
After finishing a divine peanut sauce vegetable dish, it was time get the bill and say goodbye.
"
See you next week," they say to me with a laugh and a smile.
It was only my second week
in a row I had dined there.
