It may look a little unusual but the German Sausage picnic stick from Jean Claude Patisserie in Subiaco is well worth the trek (as is everything else they offer).

Made with mildly spicy German sausage, sliced hard boiled egg and gherkins all folded into a soft ciabatta dough, as the name suggests, these are the perfect picnic food.

They can be eaten hot or cold, but buy more than one because they are too yummy to share ($4.50). If you prefer, there is a vegan version made with roasted vegetables ($5).

The store in West Leederville (26 Oxford Close) also offers alfresco dining in case you cannot wait until you get to the picnic.
