Parking in and around
Perth is expensive, in fact Perth is one of the most expensive places to park in the world and apparently the price of parking is on the rise again. However, parking is a fact of life, and at some stage you need to park your car, whether it's for work, shopping, evenings out or a million other reasons.
So here is a small selection of parking available in and around Perth and what you are likely to have to pay.
Perth City.
Metered street parking in the
City of Perth is now standardised and will cost $3.60 per hour.
There are fourteen
Wilson Parking areas around the CBD and there are a range of parking fees - Casual, Night, Weekend and Early Bird rates are available. Depending on which car park you use the fees vary, the cheapest being at the Corner of Pier and Wellington Streets, which is $3.00 per hour and the dearest being at 378 Murray Street where the fees start at $9.00 for half an hour.
Fremantle
Parking in Fremantle is a little cheaper than in the city but can still cost you a packet. Parking on the side streets is a good option, some streets are completely free and some are free during certain hours, but watch out for the parking inspectors.
Metered parking in Fremantle is about $2.60 an hour.
There are four
Wilson Parking areas in Fremantle and fees are $4.00 for 30 minutes, or in the Woolworths Supermarket carpark on Adelaide Street it will cost $2.00 per 90 minutes.
City of Fremantle has about thirty two car park areas of various sizes and parking fees start at $1.60 per hour.
The Queensgate Multi Storey Carpark on Henderson Street offers Early Bird Parking for $7.00 per day. Casual parking is $2.00 per hour and the first hour is free.
Train Stations
Transperth provides a limited amount of parking spots at train stations around Perth and the surrounding areas.
Lock 'n' Ride car parks are fenced car parks with free parking. Pay 'n' Display car parks charge a flat fee of $2.00 whether you park all day or just part of the day.
Shopping Centres
Most shopping centres in and around Perth have car parking available and in most cases it's free.
Perth Airport
Perth Airport has lots of short term and long term parking at both the International and Domestic terminals.
Short Term parking starts at $4.00 for 30 minutes and Long Term parking starts at $20.00 per day.

If you are looking for parking in any area try the
CarParking.info website. Use it on your laptop or tablet or there is a great, free, phone app that you can download called Cheap Parking.
Input your destination, arrival and departure information and you will be given a list of car parks in the area and an estimate of the cost. Then simply choose where you want to park.
