Free meals, cheap movies and reduced price haircuts are a few of the reasons why spendthrifts have turned Tuesday night into the night to go out. There's deals to be had all over the city on the second night of the week.

Dining Out

The Caxton Hotel (38 Caxton Street, Paddington), The Paddo (186 Given Terrace, Paddington) and the Hotel Orient (560 Queen Street) both offer 2 4 Tuesday specials, where customers can purchase any two meals and receive the cheapest free. Some conditions apply so check the website before making a booking.

In many circles, Cheap Tuesday is just as likely to be called Taco Tuesday. Customers can purchase two dollar tacos at the Regatta Hotel (543 Coronation Drive, Toowong), or two dollar tacos and burritos at the Alibi Room (1/720 Brunswick Street, New Farm).

For a cheap date, take her to Bar Barossa (corner Adelaide and Macrossan Streets, Brisbane) for Neighbours Night. You'll receive two sample platters and four glasses of wine for $49. Or, try Lock N Load in West End, where you'll receive the pasta of the day and a glass of wine for $15.00.

At the Raceview Tavern (99 Raceview Street, Raceview), children eat for free with every paying adult.

Movies

If you can stand the crowds, you can enjoy a cheap movie at most theatres in Brisbane. Hoyts Cinemas throughout Australia charge $11.00 for all movie tickets on Tuesday nights (plus $1.00 booking fee for online tickets); at Cineplex theatres adults pay $6.50, students and seniors pay $5.50 and children and pensioners pay $4.50; and at the Dendy Portside, enjoy mainstream and art house releases for $10.00 for adults and $8.50 for pensioners.

Pizza

Dominoes pizzas are $5.95 on Tuesday nights (pick up only).

Some Eagle Boys outlets also offers Cheap Tuesday specials. Ring your local store to see if they are one of them.

Other

Head to Strike Bowling Wintergarden for bowling, beers and karaoke. On Tightass Tuesday, you'll receive $8.00 games, drinks specials and free popcorn.
