Spending the night at home watching Real House Wives of New York City is my idea of the best night in ever, but I also know you need a good balance of socialising as well. If you haven't been able to tell by now, I love a great deal and can hardly ever justify spending over $100 on a night out. This is why I've collected a group of fun activities and dining you can enjoy on the Gold Coast and still have some money left over for that designer handbag or new PlayStation game you have had your eye on.

Free Trivia

Get a group together (ideally with all different interests, as this will help you win!) and a schooner of beer. Burleigh Bowls Club offer free trivia every second Wednesday of the month and every last Wednesday of the Month at 7pm. The atmosphere is great and the system is very well organised, but is aimed at an older generation.

If you are looking for something a bit more laid back and younger, Varsity Hotel CBD also have Trivia nights every Thursday starting from 7pm, but it's recommended that you get there about 6.30. They have $10 meals if you are playing Trivia too.



Melbas Thursday Night Corona Club

Honestly I used to be such a regular at this, until I started working 6 days a week (someone save me and take me back to those beautiful Corona nights). This has become rather famous round the Coast as being the coolest hang on a Thursday night and it's hard to top it, Coronas for less than half price, pumping vibe and awesome music. Melbas



The Sit Down Comedy Club – The PA – Conrad Jupiter's

Love laughing? WHO DOESN'T? Get on down to The PA every Wednesday at 8pm for a laugh and a half. It's a shockingly cheap entry fee of only $10 - INCLUDING A DRINK. You can also dine at The PA , dinner starting at 5.30pm – 9.00pm.
