Finding the perfect happy hour after work on a Friday afternoon in the CBD is a very hard thing. Finding a seat can then be even harder. It is for this reason I recommend as soon as the clock ticks over to 5pm, you should grab your bags and run (dont walk) to in Hardware Lane Melbourne (just off Little Bourke St).

Happy hour runs daily from 5 to 8pm, however on Friday drinks from Charlie's extensive cocktail list are 2-for-1 - that is pretty much half-price cocktails! If the massive list of concoctions doesn't interest you how about some $3 bubbly or a $4 Pure Blond Pot? Charlie's has something for everyone's tastebuds.

We arrived at 5:05pm and there were still several booths and chairs available, however they were filling up quick. The decor is sumptuous and the lighting dim. I can recommend drinking a Tropical Charlie or a Russian Spring Punch - the fruit is fresh and all cocktails are prepared before your eyes by professional yet friendly staff members.

However Charlie's can get VERY busy during Happy Hour - arrive early to avoid disappointment and buy your drinks in a group to avoid long waits at the bar (given the cocktail deals this isn't too much of a problem).

Head down to this Friday before the rush and sip on some fine cocktail creations with friends - you won't regret it!
