is situated in Eight Mile Plains, as one of the restaurants operating under Glen Hotel The Glen Hotel , "a unique hotel destination featuring the newest 4.5 star luxury accommodation". As a fun fact, Eight Mile Plains is one of Brisbane's settled suburbs and was named as such after the area's flat topography and the distance (8 miles) to One Mile Swamp (now known as Woolloongabba). Just minutes from the highway, Charles Baker is conveniently located 20 minutes south of Brisbane's central business district. There is plenty of free parking available onsite.

Oh, and in case you're wondering why is named as such? Back in 1863, Charles Baker purchased the land upon which the cafe sits. Two years later, after Charles was granted a publican's license, he officially opened Bakers Hotel for trade - as you may have guessed, Bakers Hotel is now what we call the Glen Hotel!

Seating

There is plenty of outdoor seating available at Charles Baker, set out in a comfortable and relaxed courtyard and surrounded by a beautiful white picket fence. If you're looking for a quick caffeine pick-me-up before work and perhaps don't have the luxury of sitting down to savour every sip of your coffee and bite of your donut, you have the option of texting Charles Baker at 0484 243 489 your order prior to arrival - there's even 10 minute express donut and coffee parking available for your convenience!

Dog-Friendly

Yes - Charles Baker is very much dog-friendly! With a communal water bowl provided for pooches with fresh drinking water, you can rest assured knowing that they'll stay hydrated during their visit, even during the warmer months. Plus, there is dog parking available! Simply loop your dog's leash over the hook - it's literally easier than parking your car. This way, pawrents can relax and enjoy their visit to Charles Baker without checking up on their furbabies every other minute to ensure they haven't made a mad dash for a freshly baked donut. But who could blame them for trying, right?

Food & Drinks

As you probably may have already guessed, Charles Baker has... donuts and coffee available! Crazy, right? Order your coffee just the way you like it, in three different sizes - Small ($4.00), Medium ($4.50), and Large ($5.00). For every 6 coffees purchased, get your 7th free of charge, on the house. You can even order a babychino for the little ones so that they don't miss out on the "cafe experience"! In addition to coffee, Charles Baker also has a range of teas and milkshakes available.

As for the donuts (which are freshly baked on-site everyday), choose from three flavours; Cinnamon Donut, Nutella Donut, and Strawberry Jam Donut. A single donut costs $3.50, or $10.00 if you want to try one of each flavour! Or grab an even better deal and get 6 donuts for $18.00, or 12 donuts for $34.00. The more you buy, the better value for money - is this not a great incentive to splurge on donuts or what?! Charles Baker also has breakfast available till 10am each day.
