Now, I don't know about everyone else out there, but my New Years Eve celebrations usually ends up with me asleep on the couch by 10:30 pm. Sad, I know. This year, however, I'm determined to break the habit. And what better way to that then with a visit to Moorabbin's hottest new live music venue,
The Chandelier Room.
This venue has become renowned around the area for its relaxed vibe. With cosy couches that swallow you whole and hanging luminescent chandeliers, the decor definitely reflects this laid back atmosphere. Each weekend at The Chandelier Room sees a swag of emerging Melburnian talent, focusing primarily on blues, roots, country and soul tunes. The venue also hosts a weekly open mic night on Sunday evenings, so if your an aspiring singer, why not book a spot on the line-up?
This year, this hip hang-out is hosting their first New Years Eve celebration, and it's set to be a knock out. The Chandelier Room will ring in the new year with good booze, great food and even better music.
The bill includes jazz duo
Double Entendre, singer/songwriter
Twyce Daily and the Limited Options, and two foot stompingly good blue grass bands,
The Rusty Pickers and
The Quarry Mountain Dead Rats.
The kitchen will be open all night, so if there are any peckish partiers attending, they'll be able to indulge on a range or gourmet pizzas, cheese and dip platters and antipasto plates.
Tickets for the evening are going at a rate of $49 plus booking fee and can be purchased from the venue's website. This event is for age 18 and over only, so be sure to bring your I.D. along or you might miss out!
