Several exhibitions at the Centre for Contemporary Photography run until the 19th of May 2013. They vary from the nostalgic, to the experimental and technical.

The Box Brownie Years 1956-58, Robert Rooney

This black-and-white series of photographs taken by Robert Rooney during 1956 to 1958 demonstrate an early fascination with freedom and repetition. This exhibit is curated by Maggie Finch and Patrick Pound with Robert Rooney.

Folded Colour: Lydia Wegner

This exhibit is created through the collation of objects and scraps from the artist's studio. Technical effects are then applied to distort images of the objects.

When our Horizons Meet: Jo Scicluna

Jo Scicluna is a Melbourne-based artist, who explores landscapes through photography. The works feature minimal physical and material treatments such as tinted or punctured acrylic, collages and two-toned frames.

FX: Steve Carr, Greatest Hits, Lou Hubbard, Taree Mackenzie and Justene Williams

FX explores video as a way to manipulate the expectations of viewers, using basic visual effects. This exhibition is curated by Patrice Sharkey and Liang Luscombe.

The Centre for Contemporary Photography is at 404 George Street Fitzroy. Enquiries: (03) 9417 1549, [email protected].
