We often think of London as being quite an artistic place, think of all the galleries that are dotted around the city. Then think of all of the universities, colleges and establishments specialising in art and its many disciplines. Hence it doesn't take a leap of imagination to think that there must be literally thousands of artists (and even more wannabes) dotted throughout London and its environs. Before you get to thinking why I'm telling you all this, think about this for a minute - where do they get all there materials from?

Granted, if you are not particularly interested in creating art, you probably neither know nor care, however, if you do have the creative gene you may be happy to know about Cass Art, and its chain of stores around London. In fact, if this has wetted your appetite, you should really head to Islington and the flagship store. The first thing to notice (as seen in the photo), is how attractive the store actually is. Set over three floors, there are more choices to get creative than you could possibly handle - everything from painting in oils through to books on drawing superheroes. There are educational and creative toys for children, all the way through to lightboxes and technical drawing tools for the discerning architectural designer all housed within this rather fantastic warehouse conversion.

Then there's the price. Governed by it's own manifesto, the company more or less guarantee's the cheapest prices on the best products, so no excuses for those who would like to get their hands dirty.

Go there with an open mind and you'll come out laden down with goods, and with imagination buzzing around your psyche with all the ideas you can put into practice - just don't forget to clean up after yourself.
