The market for everyone
I must admit sheepishly that I had not been to Carrara Markets for quite a while until recently when my Mum, sister and nephew came over from NZ and not wanting just fruit and veg, the only markets I could think of on that particular day was the Carrara Markets.
My sister loves a good market and low and behold the Carrara Markets is a fabulous market to spend a few hours. I was amazed and pleasantly surprised with the market now spanning an incredible area of 10 whole acres with hundreds of stalls. A great place for all the family to explore with loads of fun and entertainment to keep the kids amused. A word of caution though, it is hard to keep tabs on everyone… A designated meeting place or mobile phone comes in handy!
The Carrara Markets has indeed everything for everyone, and I mean everything. Items for the home and garden, new and second hand treasures, great cafes to rest the weary feet and grab an all day breakfast or something to drink, beautiful fresh flowers, fruit and veg, bits and bobs, homewares, clothing, jewellery, sunglasses, toys and much much more, all at bargain prices.
I picked up a beautiful summer dress for $25 and top for $10, lovely gladiolus, irises and a thermos for the man of the house. Needless to say, the thermos rolled off the back of the car bumper the other day and I need to go back and buy another one (maybe two)! Not that I really need an excuse.
Carrara Markets is well worth a trip. Fabulous bargains, great gifts and items for everyone and hey, why not treat yourself.
Open Saturday and Sunday with plenty of parking available.
