Do you want to learn more about Canberra and its history? The Canberra Region Heritage Festival brings together dozens of venues around the region who tell a story about Canberra's past. In 2017 the theme for the festival is 'Questions & Change', as the festival falls on the 50th anniversary of the 1967 constitutional referendum that saw Indigenous Australians finally included in the census. Events around the Capital include indigenous art and cultural tours, as well walks, talks, tours and exhibitions focussing on local indigenous history.

Highlights of the festival also include Tim The Yowie Man ghostly tours, tours up the National Carillon, Cuppacumbalong Gardens Open Days, the Jane Austen Festival, tours of the Jarrabomberra Wetlands World War 1 trench, Lake Burley Griffin Heritage Walks and much more. See the website for the full list and details.
