Debra, a stay-at-home mum of three, has just recently moved to Brisbane with her family. She is looking forward to experiencing and sharing all that the city has to offer.

Can you keep a Secret? Well, that depends on the secret. And in this case, the answer is no.

After driving past the sign on numerous occasions on my way to Stones Corner, I finally pulled over to see what the secret was.

Can You Keep a Secret? is a vintage boutique located in an old Queenslander on Logan Road in Greenslopes. From the moment you walk through the gate, past the quirky garden and step inside to hear funky soul music, you know it is going to be an interesting shop.

I was with my eight year old daughter the day I visited. For me, my childhood flashed before my eyes. There was the gollywog I had as a child (before the world became politically correct), the old Singer sewing machine with the foot pedal that my mother had, the turntable console we listened to Abba records on, and all the kitsch ornaments.

To my daughter, everything was new and fascinating: the typewriter, the slide viewer, and the old telephone. "What is it?" she enquired. "It's an old phone." I replied. "But how does it work?" she looked befuddled. "Well, you put your finger in the dial and spin it". She didn't seem convinced.

There are two levels to browse at Can You Keep a Secret? The upper level has several rooms stocked full of gorgeous goods from almost every decade. The Male Quarter is a room dedicated to men: shirts, shoes, and shiny ties.

Our favourite room was the bridal boudoir with vintage wedding dresses, prom frocks, evening gowns, fancy hats, costume jewellery, and more. Downstairs, inside 'Secret 33', there is more vintage furniture, home wares, bikes, and even a seventies disco ball. The disco ball probably comes in handy on the evenings when 'Secret 33' converts into an underground party space and a DJ spins the vinyl.

If you love vintage, or if you are just looking for a bit of nostalgia, visit Can You Keep a Secret? And remember – you didn't hear it from me.
