Stables Market in Camden is one of the largest and most interesting markets in London.

It can also get quite crowded with a claimed 35 million visitors a year, however if you can handle the bustle it's definitely worth the trip.

There are over 450 different shops selling everything you'd expect from a large London market, with an empahsis on antiques, art, fashion, music, and food. It's on the young and funky side and quite a different atmosphere to Notting Hill or Portobello.

Check out the website for a cheesy-tastic video tour.

The shops are located amongst a warren of laneways and small passages, and even some underground. You'll easily be able to spend a good 3 or 4 hours wandering about without seeing the same thing twice.

Here is a small map of the market. Unfortunately the larger PDF map does not seem to be working.

Getting to Stables Market is easy. Catch the tube to Camden Town or Chalk Farm, and then stroll down Chalk Farm Road.
