Camden is a lively bit of London at the best of times, but the first weekend of May sees it ramping up the noise as the Camden Crawl returns for its fifth year.
The two-day event is famed for showcasing some of the best emerging talent in the indie and alternative music scene.
Forty venues across Camden, from the mighty Roundhouse to cosy little pubs, will be playing host to more than 200 upcoming and established bands.
See the
official website for the definitive list of participating groups – which includes biggies such as Teenage Fanclub, We Are Scientists, Lostprophets, The Drums and DJ Calvin Harris. Even the Sugababes will be there – OK, it's not
just indie and alternative. Folk, pop, hip hop, electro, rock – there'll be something for everyone.
Besides tons of live music, there'll be theatre, comedy performances, interactive events and quizzes to keep you entertained.
A ticket gives you unlimited access to all venues (supplements required for Roundhouse events), as well as clubs and parties attached to the event. The fun begins at midday each day, running through till 4am – if you've still got the legs for it by that time.
And don't worry about having to take Monday off work to recover – it's a bank holiday!
