Gourmet food lovers are in for a treat with the recent addition of Calia to the Emporium Melbourne's retail and dining offerings. This 'try-before-you-buy' concept allows diners the opportunity to order up from a sustainably-minded menu before taking home the gourmet ingredients to indulge in later.



Calia's menu, created by Michelin Star chef, Francisco Javier Araya features some of the highest quality and most ethical ingredients available including dishes such as red snapper ceviche; Wagyu MB7 on rice with an onsen egg, shiso and daigon orashi; and a decadent rock lobster croissant, mayo-miso, green apple, fennel and radish.



Every supplier stocked at Calia has been carefully considered, such as seafood and fish supplier Mark Eather, alongside a number of other environmentally friendly products such as Manuka Honey and Milked Osetra Caviar. Elite foodies and adventurous home cooks with love the selection of suppliers including Robbins Island Wagyu beef, Flinders Island Wagyu beef and meat, Yarra Valley Truffles and Red Hill Truffles, Coffee by Seven Seeds, as well as pastries and bread by Chez Dre and sweet treats by Bibelot.

The new restaurant-to-retail experience is located within Emporium Melbourne will also offer interactive masterclasses, workshops, wine tastings, sake appreciation as well as private dining experiences.

Calia is open daily from 10am - 7pm Monday through to Wednesday and on weekends, with late night shopping until 9pm Thursday and Friday.
