Cafe New York, formerly known as Cafe Andronicus, is a simple and classy cafe in the middle of Chatswood. On the corner of Victoria Ave and Archer St, this cafe is often busy, but is nice inside despite the crowds of the bustling intersection outside.
Cafe New York makes a great coffee, and also has tempting cookies, slices and cakes. There are often coffee and cake specials. There are also wonderful smoothies, frappes or teas on offer. The cafe is also licensed, with wine by the glass available. For BYO wine there is a $2 corkage fee.
The food here is appetising, but quite expensive. For breakfast, waffles with berry compote is delicious. They also have a great range of burgers and salads, or pastas and steak for dinner. The food is pricey, costing at least $20 for a substantial meal and drink.
The service is usually good, although diminishes as it gets busier. The cafe is in a great location, and is worth a visit if you are in the area shopping or watching a movie, especially if you are in a rush.
Cafe New York is one of the only places in Chatswood that is open late, usually offering a full menu until 11.30pm.
