I had the pleasure of visiting when a friend of mine decided to host her birthday party there earlier this year.

While the gathering itself seemed to dragon and on, Komodo provided exceptional service and quality food.

Situated in the heart of Prospect, is more than just a suave cafe with a welcoming, loungey vibe.

From the outside it appears to be nothing more than your local $3.50 side street cafe, but do yourself a delicious favour and head down Komodo's picturesque fairy light entrance and savour a glass of a local red with a hand-picked selection of aged cheese.

[ADVERT]Very few places these days can put out a retro feel and genuinely get away with it (though if you're browsing this site I'm sure you're aware of it!) doesn't just get away with it, it breathes fire on it's contemporaries. No more does a wall of vinyl records seem tacky - it's a tasteful nostalgic homage, with the accompaniment of local acts performing onstage weekly.

With a menu that boasts locally-sourced products, from fresh South Australian king prawns to sirloin cooked to perfection, the addition of antique teaspoons, teapots and trinkets make Komodo your cafe of choice.

If you're looking to have a dinner gathering with friends, family, or perhaps a luncheon, slither through the CBD and head towards Prospect for an evening you won't easily forget.
