Love the taste of South East Asia? Perth's monthly s are a hidden gem for food lovers.
The fetes are held on the second Saturday of each month. They are put on by the Burmese Association of Western Australia at the Australian Asian Association Hall near the city.
The food is all reasonably priced and while some people come for a bite to eat, others stock up on take away meals to take home. If you are not familiar with the food of Burma (now Myanmar) it is influenced by dishes from China, India and Thailand but still has its own distinct flavours.
At the fetes you will find curries, noodle dishes, salads and biryanis, amongst others. All off the food is prepared in commercial kitchens and there are plenty of vegetarian options.
The fetes run from 10am to 1pm.
