Lost in the middle of leafy suburbia I discovered that the Tarragindians have been hiding a gem of a café. Bruno's BNE, located at 212 Cracknell road in Tarragindi, is in a white picturesque Queenslander style cafe with four seating areas.

The two separate areas inside provide a perfect space for a work function or celebratory gathering. There is also a back facing deck area with a tranquil park view of Shaftebury Street Park, which surrounds Shaftebury Big Dog Park.

The cafe kindly accommodates your furry friends with canine friendly street seating at the front of the cafe. Bruno's buzzes with a diverse customer base. I'd like to highlight that although there were the usual caffeine addicts hanging around (me for one), it's a family-friendly place.

I observed two mums enjoying a surely much-deserved catch-up. One of their little cherubs magically converted one normal sized cookie into an impressive mountain of crumbs that looked like it could feed a multitude. I was impressed as the staff remained judgment-free, helpful and friendly.

What I really like about Bruno's is that it has a light, clean and spacious feel. The ambience perfectly sets up an amazing cup of coffee. I am not sure if I was just in desperate need of caffeine that day or if they serve caffeinated ambrosia of the gods in cup.

This place ticks all my boxes - friendly staff, quick service and great food. The menu has something for everyone. The serves are generous and most importantly it tastes just as good as it looks. Bruno's meals are prepared with locally sourced fresh seasonal ingredients and it shows.

On the breakfast menu, I found Pear Chia Pudding, Caramelized Blueberry Hot Cakes, Kimchi Fried Rice and even a Pickled Fennel Burger! Fear not all those with less adventurous taste buds, Bruno's also offers crowd favourites like Bacon and Egg Burgers and Avocado on Toast.

Friday and Saturday nights between 6pm and 10pm you can select from a range of Tapas, Burgers and share plates.

The combination of Zucchini and Ricotta Fritters, chorizo, kraut, tomato salsa and poached eggs is the perfect way to awaken your taste buds. Needless to say, it's a breakfast I'd come back for.

Bruno's Benny is made up of poached eggs, apple hollandaise, cornbread and spinach with your choice of bacon, ham or halloumi. Perfect for that guy who must have bacon or it's not really breakfast.

Smoked Salmon Croquettes or as I like to call them 'heaven in your mouth' include salsa verde, pickled fennel, cucumber and feta salad with soft poached eggs.

With breakfast this good, I am going to have to book dinner here soon. Trust me people of Brisbane, Bruno's is worth a visit or a few!
