This summer, Bryant Park is opening its lawn for performances from the Great White Way through its aptly named
Broadway in Bryant Park series.
Sample the variety Broadway has to offer right now in an almost eccentric mashing of productions. July 29, for instance, features the kid-friendly "The Lion King," next to the rock musical "Next to Normal," which delves into themes of mental illness.
Regardless, the hour-long shows should provide a welcome diversion during your lunch break, or something you can plan on playing hookie to, as the series offers highlights from the city's long-running shows, such as "Chicago," to Broadway's newest babies, such as "Fela!"
