Brisbane LEGO® Fan Expo Chandler 2014

Following on from the success of their Strathpine Expo, BrisBricks are hosting their largest Expo ever in the Chandler Arena, giving Southsiders a chance to join the LEGO revolution. This is a perfect end to the school holidays, with viewing sessions occurring on Saturday 4th October through to Monday 6th October. Once again there will be a special session for Autistic children and their families on Sunday morning, which features reduced lighting and noise and fewer visitors.

The focus of the Expo are the fabulous creations by avid LEGO builders from Brisbane. Back room builders of all ages are industriously preparing their displays, all for the enjoyment of children and LEGO alike. This expo will feature a number of Star Wars themed creations, along with cities, trains, movie sets and giant models. These builders are serious, with many creating moving models, models with flashing lights and thousands and thousands of bricks and man hours.

The fan expos are not just a chance to check out fabulous LEGO creations by dedicated LEGO builders. Kids can get hands on, with remote control LEGO off-road vehicles, Chima Speedorz and race car races. There is a chance to do some building of your own, and of course the opportunity to pick up special deals and collectors items at the LEGO shop. Maybe you'll find that missing piece you need, find a LEGO designer bracelet to go with your outfit, or collect all of your favourite minifigs. There is a chance to meet the Brisbane builder whose Ghostbusters car design was chosen by LEGO to be put into production for the new series, as well as chance to win one signed by the LEGO creative team.

Also in attendance at the Expo will be the 501st Legion. Why not have your photo taken with a Storm Trooper, or Darth Vader if you're game! Avid LEGO builders may like to enter the Creative Builder Competition by building their favourite LEGO scene and sending a photo of you and your creation and emailing it and your name, phone number, suburb, a description of your creation, age and parental consent to have your photo displayed to [email protected] before the 21st September. The creation must be small enough to transport and display.

Doors open between 9am and 4pm Saturday and Monday, and 10.30-5 on Sunday. The Autism session is on Sunday from 9-10.30am. You are advised to book online at TryBooking for a session to avoid long queues. Once you are in the venue you are welcome to stay as long as you would like. The cost of entry is $10 for adults and $5 for children aged 3-15. Under 3 are free. To find out more, visit the BrisBricks LEGO Expo Event Page .
