OK, I'll admit, it's been a while and no, that's not me in the picture. I haven't exercised per se for, um, two years. There, I said it out loud. Now there are reasons for this but I'm guessing you've heard them all before and anyway, I don't want you using my lines next time I meet you at the bar.
The problem with all this exercising lark is that, frankly, it bores me. However, all of this is set to change. I've found my 'thang'. I've always enjoyed a boogie and in my heyday I could dance for hours and I had the thighs to prove it. More than a handful of years and definitely more than a handful of muffin top later, the time has come to brave the dance floor once more. Yep, I'm going to 'join the party'. Are you with me yet? I'm talking about zumba, baby.
I know, you're already thinking that I'm a bit late and have missed the boat but I'm cutting to the chase. Whilst
zumba fitness has been around a while,
zumba toning is its latest evolution and adds another dimension to the workout. I'll be using toning sticks shaped like maracas to flap my bingo wings off and shaking my booty all the way to the 'sculpted curves' I know I was meant to have…really.
Kerrie Coy (pictured – I told you it wasn't me) is the licensed zumba instructor in the East Brisbane area and the inspiration behind my new found mania but you can find an instructor near you on the official
zumba site. Meet you at the bar afterwards!
