**Wear a wee touch of green and celebrate the luck of the Irish at this year's St Patrick's Day Parade in Brisbane. The annual parade, now in its 31st year, will feature over 700 participants and 40 floats, displays, music and Irish dancing all with an Irish flavour.

You can get along and line the footpaths to cheer the parade on Saturday 14 March 2020 from 10:30 am.- 11:30 am.

Fittingly, the parade begins and concludes outside the greenery of the City Botanic Gardens on Alice Street in the Brisbane CBD. Those interested in being in the parade, need to register before 28 February 2020.

You could be in the running to win the Jan Dooley St Patrick's Day Parade Best Float Award.

But wait there's more! The fun continues with The Picnic In the Park with food, drink, stalls, craft, ice cream and other desserts from 8:00am until 2:00pm. Oh, and did I mention, a psychic and music from Munster Bucks.

This is a free, fun, family-friendly event. The St Patrick's Day Parade is organised by the St Patrick's Day Parade Association Inc.
Who is St Patrick?
Saint Patrick's Day, is also known as feast day of St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. St Patrick was born in Roman Britain in the late 4th century, and Saint Patrick's Day, feast day (March 17) of St. Patrick, patron saint of Ireland. Born in Roman Britain in the late 4th century, he was kidnapped at the age of 16 and taken to Ireland as a slave. He escaped but returned about 432 to convert the Irish to Christianity.

By the time of his death on March 17, 461, St Patrick had established monasteries, churches, and schools.
