Conrad Treasury Casino . The recently renovated building is impossible to miss – it's the cluster of multicoloured boxes dominating the CBD riverside. This library provides Brisbane residents with a selection of free programs, activities and concerts.
Fridays and weekends are dedicated to children, with a baby book club on Fridays (there are two classes for under 12 months and over 12 months) and children's story time on Saturday and Sunday from 11.00am. Story time includes craft activities.
On Wednesdays and Fridays from 9.30am until 11.00am, participants can learn the ancient art of paper folding with a free origami lesson.
And at the end of the week, enjoy the
Acoustics on Sunday session. Brisbane artists Shoshannah Beck lends a laid back vibe with her indie pop performances from 12.00pm until 2.00pm.
If you've got some time to spare, check out the displays spread throughout the libraries two floors. On
Level One there's' Light and Lenses,' an infrared photographic collection and 'Kitty's Closet,' featuring artwork by Kitty Horton, while on
Level Two you can explore imagery from horror and sci-fi movies with 'They Came,' or the relationship between technology and nature with 'Michael Candy.'
Library members have access to the buildings facilities, which include wireless internet and free internet classes, funky meeting spaces, a community meeting room, a kitchenette and overhead projector. You can also borrow pedometers. This is valid for members of any
Brisbane City Council library.
The
is open seven days a week and remains open until 7.00pm on Friday night.
