If you're into eating traditional French food and love opera then head down to
Brasserie St Jacques. Every Tuesday evening – from now until summer 2010 – you can listen to members of the
Oyster Opera company perform while you dine!
This charismatic restaurant, located on Mayfair's St James Street, is as close to a Parisian brasserie dining experience as you'll get in London. With custard-yellow walls and friendly service, the 70-seat restaurant offers a variety of French dishes – even steak tartare, foie gras and escargots. You can barely get escargots in France these days so expect to see lots of French people when you go!
The music is provided by opera singers
Fiona Oliver-Smith and James Heath – their duo known more commonly as the critically acclaimed Oyster Luxe – and is fit for a king. In fact Fiona has previously performed for the King of Jordan and pop royalty Elton John, so go expecting great things.
You get two chances to enjoy the sound of these soprano and tenor voices as a twenty-minute performance runs at 8pm and 9pm. It's good and therefore gets busy, so try and book this unique dining experience in advance if you can!
