Finally there's a Bourke Street Bakery right near my work. No need to trek all the way to Alexandria for my sweet and savoury fix.


The shop front is literally a hole in the wall but it's their wares that make you salivate. I can't go past the lamb, almond and harrisa rolls, and pork and fennel sausage rolls. They also have a fabulous range of sandwiches that changes regularly so keeps it interesting.

I'm a massive fan of all their tarts; chocolate, lemon curd, ginger brûlée, strawberry meringue, rhubarb and almond. The cakes are so good too. Love the chocolate, carrot and raspberry and pear cake.

Everything is delicious so much so I have bought the cookbook and have made nearly everything they are selling. Yet to attempt yeasted loaves but my sourdough is downpat.
