As walks go, they don't come much more gorgeous than the six kilometre stretch from
Bondi to Coogee.
Famous Bondi Beach
This is a promenade beloved by locals and tourists alike. Even the beautiful people, such as Bondi residents
Michael Clarke and
Lara Bingle, are keen on tackling that small slice of the
Great Coastal Walk.
Typical summer scene
You begin at the famous
Bondi Beach, soon passing the well-known
Icebergs. Shortly after, you encounter an Aboriginal engraving near the Mackenzies Point lookout, before arriving at the petite
Tamarama Beach.

The next landmark is
Bronte Beach. From there, the path continues to
Waverley Cemetery, which is not only home to such famous Australians as
Sir Edmund Barton,
Henry Lawson and
Victor Trumper, but would have to be one of the most scenic burial grounds in the world. Moving on, you arrive at
Clovelly Beach and then
Coogee Beach.
You'd kill to be buried here
It isn't just the classic coastal scenery that makes this walk so pleasurable. With kiosks, cafes, pubs and restaurants lining the route, there are numerous opportunities to stop, relax and soak up the surroundings. And with no less than five beaches, it couldn't be easier to enjoy a swim and a sunbake along the way.
