There has to be a reason for all the Lego that ends up strewn across the house.

And there is. It is creativity. The kids of today playing with blocks are tomorrow's architects.

This is recognised in , an event that happens each year at Deakin Edge in Federation Square.

This free children's event is on this coming Sunday the 3rd of August. Kids get to transform a sea of Lego into beautiful architecture through discussions and play.

The fact that the event is held in Deakin Edge is quite appropriate given this is one of the most stunning architectural feats in Melbourne with its sensational patchwork of domed glass offering views over the Art Centre spire and Alexandra Gardens.

It is a beautiful view to engage with while the kids pile into the tons of Lego supplied by The Australian Institute of Architects (Victorian Chapter).

This is great family fun and suitable for children 5-10.

Children have to be accompanied by an adult and you do need to reserve a ticket as this is an enormously popular event. Last time they ran this event it booked out quickly.

I guess it's because Lego and kids slot together perfectly.

Bookings are essential and available through Trybooking. To book Click here .
