After hearing about the fabulous coffee and salted caramel syringe filled donuts that had to offer, I just had to see what the fuss was about. Any excuse for a good coffee and I do confess to having a sweet tooth as well.



The Blackboard Coffee empire was created by Nick Pearce, a Bond University student full of enthusiasm and a driving passion for good coffee. At Blackboard Coffee their focus is on delicious hand crafted coffee and I must admit they do make smooth, beautiful coffee.



Blackboard Coffee has taken the Gold Coast by storm expanding to four locations on the coast: Blackboard Cafe, where it all began in Varsity Lakes including Takeaway Table next door; ESPL opposite the Beach at Surfers Paradise and at Capri On Via Roma.

Here at Capri On Via Roma they also run training and brewing classes for the coffee connoisseur and can show you how they produce their coffee from green bean to cup. At Blackboard Coffee , coffee is hand picked on farms, loaded into their 5kg barrel roaster to create a smoothly roasted coffee.

Walking into the cafe at Capri On Via Roma your senses are awakened with the beautiful aroma of coffee. The cafe has an industrial vibe and reminds me of cafes in Melbourne. Staff are welcoming and kept on the ball with the never-ending request for coffee. A relaxed atmosphere and, just amazing coffee. It is an awesome spot for a weekend morning caffeine hit or coffee after school drop off. I can see why it is a favourite with locals.





Well, my coffee was just superb, a full-bodied, smooth, skinny cappuccino and as for the donut accompanied with syringe filled with salted caramel to inject into your donut, well, all I can say is WOW! Sticky, sweet caramel atop a beautiful donut, just yum and big enough for two!
