Birkenhead Point has been widely known to the public because the site houses a great number of branded factory outlet stores at a one stop venue. However this is not the main reason that attracts me to this place. What I love this place is its interesting history and the spectacular views of Sydney Harbour when I take the scenic walk.
Birkenhead Point has a rich heritage and the development of Birkenhead Point can be traced back to the early 1800s. The site was established to run brick making business and steeplechasing horse racing. In 1928, Dunlop Rubber Factory was set up after a merger and was then sold to David Jones Pty Ltd in 1976. The site changed owners several times during this 20 year period. In 2009 the redeveloped Birkenhead Point shopping centre was re-launched.
Thursday, 19th of December @ 06:30pm - $99 - 4 places left
Adjoined to the shopping and outlet centre is Birkenhead Point Marina - the largest privately owned floating marina on Sydney Harbour. If you have done enough in shopping at the centre, why not relax for a coffee overlooking the marina. After that, take a leisurely stroll through the area and you'll find you are simply wrapped around with exotic waterfront views. It's very relaxing and peaceful.
Outside the food court, it's a great place to relax for a coffee
Situated close to the shopping centre and Birkenhead Point Marina is where you'll find Dunlop Reserve Playgroundafter a short walk - a great little park surrounded with grassy area, seating, picnic tables, enclosed playground and bike track in close proximity. What's more, the park has beautiful harbour views and lovely natural shade in sunny days. This is a great place for family outing as the kids will definitely love running around this place while you can sit back and relax.
