Bimbo Deluxe takes its name from the dolls that decorate the relaxed venue, which is filled with furniture as comfortable as it is eclectic. Located on the thriving
Brunswick Street, this Fitzroy institution is the place to be almost any night of the week.
As well as having a good selection of beer, wine and the increasingly popular cider, Bimbo Deluxe also have a unique variety of vodka infusions, with flavours like pomegranate, lychee and chocolate. Bimbo Deluxe is also a great spot to catch some local music talent, with lives bands playing throughout the week. The rooftop bar, complete with Moroccan lanterns, is the perfect spot to relax - just watch out for some of those cactus plants.
Corner of Brunswick St and Rose St, Fitzroy
The sister venue of Windsor's
Lucky Coq, Bimbo Deluxe is best known for its $4 pizzas. You have to time it right though, so be sure to visit Sunday-Thursday 7-11pm, Weekdays 12-4pm or Saturday 7-9pm for the cheap eats. Don't let the price fool you into thinking these
pizzas are pedestrian pub fare, because the tempting toppings range from Agnello (Tomato, Mozarella, Lamb, Rocket, Pine-nuts, Sultanas & Parmesan) to Paese Del Sole (Kangaroo, Onion, Tomato, Mozzarella, Australian Bush Spice, Sweet Potato & Potato). There are vegetarian options too, such as the Pesto Peperone (Sweet Capsicum Pesto, Feta & Green Olives) and even dessert pizzas like the delectable Foresta Bianca (Strawberry, Mascarpone, Cranberry, Pistachio, Baileys Toffee Sauce & Ice Cream).
Don't expect a particularly classy night out at Bimbo Deluxe, but do expect to enjoy some cheap food and have a great time.
