Bikram Yoga

If you thought you were getting a decent work-out from your regular yoga class, just wait until you try bikram yoga. This intense variation is performed in a heated room (typically around 40 degrees, with 40 per cent humidity), which is said to aid deeper stretching while reducing tension. Classes run for ninety minutes.

Bikram Yoga Capalaba (2/17 Tombo Street) is owned and operated by Kylie Watson, a professional dancer and actor, and a certified bikram yoga instructor. Classes take place seven days a week and one lesson is $19 per adult and $15 per student.

Bikram Yoga North Brisbane (1131 Sandgate Road, Nundah) is run by a group of qualified instructors. The studio is open seven days a week, including Christmas Day and Boxing Day, and classes are $20 per adult or $15 per student.

If you're eager for a fitness challenge, bikram yoga may be just the activity for you.
