I came across the when walking down Flinders St, and was struck by6 what a great idea it was.

Secure Parking just for bikes. Such a simple idea.

When I looked in it was on the weekend and the place was empty but I couldn't help thinking what a great idea if you were coming into the city via the north bank bicycle path. The can be found in a building know as Banana Alley about 10 metres walk from the Queens Bridge and just a short 300m walk from the Elizabeth Street entrance to Flinders Street Railway Station.

You could either train it in and ride out or bike it in and then train it out, spending part of you day wandering around the city knowing that your precious bike was safe.

If you work, volunteer or visit the city regularly during the week there are also other bonuses that were outlined on their website that included:-

  • Clean showers with towel and soap
  • Your own personal locker
  • Hair dryers even hair straighteners
  • Electric irons
  • Air conditioned change rooms
  • Valet laundry

  • Compared to the Bike Pod that I reviewed recently this has a little more luxury. It costs more, but being able to have your own locker, a work clothes laundering service, and above all a same day bike maintenance service, is a big plus in a very tight schedule.

The main front entrance faces the Yarra River and Southbank.

What is really impressive is that you can have 24/7 access to a secure bike storage facility

    No more excuses.
