The
Big Day Out is one of the biggest music events of the Summer festival season and the line up for 2013 sets the bar pretty high for a music festival jam packed with top acts.
The Red Hot Chilli Peppers have confirmed that the Big Day Out dates across Australia will be the only events that they'll be seen out, so this is going to be one music festival you'll not want to miss.
Who
Headline acts for the include the Red Hot Chilli Peppers in addition to Las Vegas rock band The Killers. Aside from these big acts, you'll be spoilt for choice with over 30 further bands and artists to entertain you.
Confirming that this is the event to be at, The Chilli's have said that this will be the only place to catch them when they are in Australia.
What
The Big Day Out has been going for over 20 years with an impressive list of previous performers including Nirvana, Metallica, Muse, The Prodigy, Rage Against the Machine, Foo Fighters and Limp Biscuit to name but a few. The event showcases up and coming acts; providing a platform for new bands to be heard alongside more seasoned popular artists and bands.
Previous years have seen the Big Day Out in several major Australian cities in addition to New Zealand, however the 2013 event is being produced by a slightly different creative team who have confirmed that they'll be concentrating solely on Australia with no dates planned for New Zealand.

Why
Seen by many as the number one music event of the year, this is a great Summer day out with your mates that your ears will thank you for. A feast of music is guaranteed based on the line up for the 2013 event.
How
Tickets can be purchased via their
website and are priced at $165 each. You can purchase up to 6 tickets within one transaction.
For an extra $100 you can purchase a 'Like a Boss Ticket' which gives you a premium experience at the Big Day Out including access to the Boss Oasis and Cocktail Lounge, free coat check, lockers and mobile phone charging in addition to a shaded lounge and climate controlled toilets. It certainly might be worth the extra money for the climate controlled toilets if the weather is as hot as previous years.
What Else Should I Know
Check the weather before the event. Whilst it is Summer, rain has been known to prevail. So consider bringing a hat, sun screen or a coat if needed. Bottles and cans in addition to illicit drugs and alcohol are prohibited, so bring plenty of cash to purchase fluids to stay hydrated. Dehydration can ruin your experience at the Big Day Out. More than than, check out the guide to who is on where so you can get to see the acts you want to see and get close to the action.
