With 360 degree views, it is worth the trip
Situated North of Batemans Bay, this is one lookout not to be missed; from its drive to the actual lookout with its remarkable 360 degree views!

This impressive point affords to extensive vistas up and down the coast and out to the Budawang Mountains in the west.

The views in the morning with a slight overcast...

Glimpses of Durras Lake and other waterways are visible on both overcast and sun shining days. Regardless what the weather is like the view is astonishing and utterly breathtaking.

This Lookout is certainly a photographer's dream....waiting for those to venture into pure 360 degree beauty. As a photographer, I was knocked for six with its beauty and could not contain myself from flashing away with the camera!

I managed to capture the truly glorious contrast of beauty this place offers... from a misty overcast morning and then returning back at midday where the sun struck bright from the heavens and shone down on this Lookout, making it look even more beautiful – if that was even possible!

Taking in the spectacular view...

The road is unsealed, however it is suitable for 2wd as it is in pretty good condition. The Lookout is around 4km from the entrance; do keep an eye and ear out for wildlife as we spotted some Yellow Tailed Black Cockatoos close to the road!

Be sure to look all around you as you reach the Lookout as it is a 360 degree view of bushland, mountains, waterways and rivers / lakes...

The very cute and curious Yellow Tailed Black Cockatoo...

To get back I suggest going back the way you came, as the road further ahead is longer and more steep and uneven with a lot of pot holes and can be slightly difficult for 2wd vehicles.

This Lookout is easily missed. The best way to find it is to follow the Princess Hwy north of Batemans Bay for around 14kms, just after you pass a large rest area you will reach the Big Bit Lookout turnoff on your left. (If you see the Bendandarah's Garage – Petrol Station, you have gone too far, it is back 500 metres).

The sign to the Lookout...
