We all look for different things when deciding what qualifies as a great café. Many people base their judgement on how good their coffee is, what the food tastes like and the café's decor. For me, a great café is one that is a little different, that has warm atmosphere, decent food and a bit of personality. Naturally, a good view does not go un-noticed.

Cafes are a place to meet with friends, solve a few problems, have lots of laughs and perhaps even do some work. They are ideal if you want to remove yourself from the daily routine…
These cafes are some of the best ones that I have visited:

Alfresco Emporium Café
Address: 1021 Pittwater Road, Collaroy
Cosy and intimate café with lovely atmosphere and delicious food. Tastefully decorated and friendly staff. Part of home décor store, so you can enjoy a little shopping afterwards.

Atlas Kiosk
Address: 14 Hall Street, Bondi Beach
Café with a lot of personality and delicious fresh food. Casual and very family friendly.

Bella Vista Café
Address: North Head Scenic Drive, Manly
Stunning views of Sydney Harbour, indoor and outdoor tables available. Modern Australian cuisine with an Italian twist.

Bronze Kiosk
Address: 1 Surfview Road, Mona Vale Beach
Located on Mona Vale Beach, many outdoor tables are right on the sand. Café is very family friendly and has a beachy décor and relaxed atmosphere.

The Armchair Collective
Address: 9a Darley Street Mona Vale
Located across the road from Apex Park, this is a hidden gem. Plenty of space to move around, incredible food and coffee. A very cosy and homely atmosphere. The shop also sells homewares and flowers.

Carss Park Café & Grill
Address: Carwar Avenue, Carss Park
The ultimate for a family outing. Located within Carss Bush Park, the café has a playground nearby and serves modern Australian cuisine. It also offers a great kids' menu.

El Sweetie Café
Address: 73-75 South Street, Granville
Don't go near this café if you are on a diet. Casual café, which serves the most incredible sweets – cookies, cakes and desserts are everywhere you look.

Guylian Belgian Chocolate Café
Address: 1-25 Harbour Street, Darling Harbour
The name says it all really. Perfect café for those with a sweet tooth. Located near Darling Quarter Playground, so you can enjoy a quiet cuppa and delicious dessert while the kids play outside.

Le Paris Go Café
Address: 38 Hall Street, Bondi Beach
Relaxed atmosphere, ideal for catching up with family and friends. Seating is mostly indoors, although some outdoor chairs are also available.

Sydney Opera House Studio Café
Address: Bennelong Point, Sydney Opera House, Sydney
This is the perfect spot to take your overseas visitors. Spectacular views of Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. Dining is very casual and there is plenty of space to move around.

Three Beans
Address: 2a Darley Road, Manly
A small, intimate café, ideal for watching the world go by. Located in the centre of Manly, the café has a warm, beachy feel and is great if you want to enjoy a coffee by yourself or with a friend.
