A great cake can truly be memorable. A bad cake can also be memorable, but for all the wrong reasons.
We here at WeekendNotes like our cakes and desserts, in fact there has been much discussion about cake shops, patisseries and bakeries in Melbourne;
The French Lettuce was the top pick of Michaelie Clark (namely for it's vanilla slice), while Julia Hebaiter was quite found of
Europa Cake Shop. And speaking of St Kilda's Ackland Street and cake boutiques,

Lisa Williams went beyond St Kilda in search of Melbourne's best cake shop - highlighting some of the greats such as Brunetti, Laurent, Le Petit Gateau, Hilltop Cake Shop and so many more. I think it is fair to say Melbournians are quite found of cakes.
