Yep, you Brisbanites love a good market. That is why we are putting the question to you - just where is the best market in Brisbane?
Think about location, price, variety and atmosphere and tell us which Brisbane market makes the grade. Suggestions of all types of markets are welcome; farmer's markets, vintage clothing and jewellery markets, art and craft markets, street markets, indoor markets, outdoor markets - all types.
So please leave a listing for your favourite Brisbane market below and let us know why you think it is one of the city's best.
Northey Street City Farm Organic Farmer's Markets. These are fantastic markets situated in Windsor. I travel from Murrumba Downs every Sunday morning with my wife to do our fruit and vegetable shopping. The quality is exceptional and we have never been let down. Local farmers converge on these markets with their best produce and prices. Organic bread of all descriptions can be purchased as well as some fantastic Organic meats. There are also the organic health and beauty stalls that have cereals to make up, cheeses and wines, and yes they are all organic. Every sunday rain hail or shine from 6:30am to 10:00am. That is my pick of markets. Love fresh , get down there this Sunday.

Jan Power's Farmers Markets pretty much set the benchmark for quality produce in Brissie:
CBD Markets - 5th Oct
Powerhouse Markets - 8th Oct
Stones Corner Markets (NEW) - 9th Oct
Over 100 traders, presenting produce at its seasonable best from around South East Queensland.
Traders to note are the The Chribergs who sell gourmet German sausages. They haven't missed a market since 2001 and have accumulated a loyal following; white collar workers line up for up to 15 mins in the CBD markets to grab some sausages for lunch or dinner.

I like the markets at Kelvin Grove Urban Village. They are big enough to have a good variety of produce, but small enough that you aren't overwhelmed by the sheer volume of stalls. The fruit and veg is first class and the hot food and baked goods are delicious (and essential for keeping your strength up for all that shopping).
Robelle Domain Markets at Springfiled Lakes on Saturday mornings have a great variety of stalls from flowers, meat & vegies to plants, clothing, entertainers and many out of the ordinary small businesses. The market is well laid out and is very clean in beautiful surroundings. The adjoining parklands have a great playground and water park for the kids to enjoy after shopping at the market.

Mt Tamborine Art & Craft Market is one not to be missed. It is on the second Sunday of the month at the Tamborine Mountain Showgrounds, Main Western Road, from 8AM - 1PM. Lovely selection of about 120 stalls, plenty of variety, something for everyone. You can park in the Showgrounds for a gold coin donation to the SES. Make a day of it and wander up Gallery Walk after the market.

My friends and I look forward to our monthly trip to Mt Tamborine Market (at the Showgrounds) it is on the 2nd Sunday of each month. I love the beautiful big shady trees, a perfect backdrop for the colourful market gazebos and stalls full of colourful things for sale. There is always a free tasty treat at the Indian food stall, we get to sample their different foods before we buy, but 'my' favourite is the butter chicken, it's to die for! Mt Tamborine is a market lovers market with local food, fresh veggies, flowers and great craft ideas. I always head there when I am looking for that special gift. The craft stalls have unique things for sale. Defiantly worth the drive out on a Sunday. The market is open 7am - 1pm. We like to make a day of it.....why not go and have a look, you will not be disappointed.

Eagle Farm Market the best Coffee and Chai by Colombian people!!
There's a great little market thats just recently started and is a little gem of a secret in Bardon, on Baroona Rd. Small but has great fruit, veg, bread and has a few great stalls for breakfast/lunch. Definitely worth the visit, especially since Saturday markets are sometimes hard to get to.

For a local, the Nundah Markets is my pick. The stall holders are always very friendly (the banana farmer always gives me a taste test before buying) , the prices on produce is sensational and I can always get a park within 50m with the huge car park next door. There is a great fresh prawn vendor there at Christmas too :)
