We all know the Irish love a bit of craic. If there's singing, dancing and cheap drinks to be had, you can be sure the Irish will be on to it before you can say potatoes with a side of potatoes. Awash as Melbourne is with the folk of the Emerald Isle, it's no wonder we've more Irish pubs and than you can shake a stick at, filled with enough lilting accents and impromptu jiggery to rival Temple Bar – and that's just from the drunken Aussies.

Pugg Mahone's on Hardware Lane has long been a fixture of the city, with its premium brews and warm ambience, while PJ O'Brien's on Southbank serves as an after work wind-down during the week and a lively hub for shenanigans on a Saturday night.

Bridie O'Reilly's has Chapel St, Lt Collins and Brunswick Rd covered with a whole range of beers on tap and live music from time to time, while The Quiet Man has been making noise in Flemington for more than a decade with its traditional vibe and a fiddler or two for good measure.

Over to you, dear readers. Tap into your partiality for a pint and tell us - where is the best Irish pub in Melbourne?
