You know how the song goes - The Best Things in Life Are Free, and here in Sydney, there are so many things you can do and see - for free. That's right - at no cost at all.

At WeekendNotes, we have highlighted numerous free activities in Sydney, for example Free Cycling in the City Courses, Woollahra Library and Blackburn Gardens, Mosman Fortifications Walk, Darling Harbour Fireworks, Bondi to Coogee Walk, Manly to North Head Walk, Mosman Bay Walk, Open Houses, Bronte Beach, Fairlight Beach, Sydney's Fishing Spots, Gallery Opening Nights, Sydney Opera House and Sydney Olympic Park, just to name a few, in fact you can see the full listing here.

If you know of a great free Sydney activity, please let us know by leaving a comment below.

We look forward to your responses.

Walk across the Harbour Bridge with a warm jacket and a camera. I like the walk from the bottom of Neutral Bay around to the Bridge, down to Circular Quay and then catching a ferry back across to the start. It's a great way to get some exercise and fresh air, new photos and appreciate some of Sydney's iconic landmarks from a different angle.

I used to love the domain. I would walk from the city via the domain home in the evening. On a Saturday morning, I would walk up the domain, or if feeling fit, go for a run, then across to the NSW Art Gallery for a browse and a coffee.

The Wednesday nights that they used to have at the NSW art gallery were fantastic as a free event. They used to have great speakers there and music. I dont know if they still do.

I love taking a walk on a sunny day around to the Quay to the Opera House and watching the ferrys go past. We then walk back around to the Rocks area for lunch at one of the old pubs and have a poke around in the shops and the markets, if they are on.

The best thing to do on a summery hot Saturday afternoon is to go to Glebe Market. Not only can you find the best treasures and trinkets, but you can also get relax on the grass with some live music and some great food. It has a really good lazy afternoon atmosphere that always makes me relaxed.
