According to the Australia Farmers Market Association, best practice farmers' markets are those where the stallholders are the farmers, their families or farm staff and not resellers. The emphasis of these markets is farm-direct and artisan-made food.

Perth is lucky to have lots of fresh produce markets across the city and Farmers Markets that have been recognised by the AFMA are asterixed.
