The family road trip is something of an Aussie tradition. Some of the best memories of my childhood were made trekking north up the Pacific Highway. The car would be piled high with luggage, while my brother and sister and I would be trying to get along on the back seat. We'd gaze upon the spectacle that is the Big Banana, fill our bellies with servo hot chips, and finally arrive at some picture-perfect seaside town for a week on the beach.
No matter whether you're going north, south, east or west, NSW is home to a fantastic array of great family holiday destinations - but where is the best spot for a family holiday in NSW?
But there's plenty more ideal family holiday spots all over the state. The south coast has just as many gems as the north coast, from towns like Kiama and Gerroa down to the pristine waters of Jervis Bay. Further south, towns like Merimbula and Bega should also not be overlooked.
Closer to Sydney, the Blue Mountains also boast plenty to keep the family entertained. And for many in regional NSW, there's nowhere better than the state capital for a family holiday - there's obviously no shortage of activities and attractions in Sydney to keep you busy.
