As a South of the River local, I've enjoyed good beverages at the The Imp in Victoria Park and have also heard good things about the Antz Inya Pantz Coffee Company, also on Albany Highway.

Try Michel's Patisserie. I haven't tried all the stores, but the one at Kardinya is delicious, and they use Rainforest Alliance Beans.

Soto on Beaufort St in Highgate serves a consistently good coffee: full-bodied, not bitter, and the perfect temperature. Watch out for the rather noisy mini-rush about 9am when mums from the local school bring their pre-schoolers in after dropping off the big siblings!

The CNR Cafe at the Northbridge Piazza. The coffee is cold extracted which makes it SO yummy! The coffee itself is rich in flavour and smooth and creamy in your mouth. Its a must to try their coffee, its very different coffee in flavour & texture.

The Little Pantry, Nicholson Rd Subi/Shenton Pk. Coffee is always a taste sensation - unique Ponchione coffee. I travel 20km for the coffee and while I'm there, will try what is new in the savoury line. I had the most amazing taste sensation in a sandwich "Reuben" ... it was in a word - devine !!

The main problem with coffee, is it depends on if place clean the machines regular and how good the grain of coffee beans. We go searching on a regular bases only to find we end up at macdonalds.
