Clerkenwell is pretty much bursting with excellent coffee places!
-Prufrock Coffee in Leather Lane
-The Espresso Room on Great Ormond Street
-Bea's of Bloomsbury
-Caravan on Exmouth Market
-St Ali on Clerkenwell Road
Even up to dose espresso on Long Lane

But Prufrock Coffee is the best. Definitely.

Jody wonders when we first started to drink coffee over here. As far as I'm aware the first coffee house opened in Oxford in 1650 and it was followed by the first London coffee house (probably no more than a wooden shack) two years later. The importer of this new exotic drink was a Sicilian called Pasqua Rosee.

Best coffee in Blackheath is at 'Handmade Food', on the main street of Blackheath - Tranquil Vale. Great food and warm sunny seating upstairs too! One of my favourite spots to hide away.

Climpson & Sons on Broadway Market in London Fields is my favourite coffee, but there is always the Monmouth cafes, Espresso Room and Lantana too, yes often Aussie/NZ Baristas! *little tip - I always check first if a cafe uses whole (full fat) milk - if so then I proceed in hope.

After wandering around the lovely Greenwich Markets, take the cobble stoned path (Turnpike Lane) to Red Door Cafe for the best coffee and a great little warm place.
