I think it is fair to say Melburnians sure do love their chocolate. Pass through any arcade or laneway in the Melbourne CBD, and you are sure to find a beautiful window display of chocolate treats.

Here at WeekendNotes, the Melbourne team has reviewed a number of specialist chocolate hotspots in and around Melbourne including Max Brenner, Koko Black Chocolate Shop and Salon, Mámor Chocolates of Melbourne, San Churro Chocolateria and Ganache Chocolate.

We have yet to review Lindt Chocolat Café, but from personal experience, this establishment would certainly be a candidate for Melbourne's best chocolate cafe. Lindt Chocolat Cafés can be found in three Melbourne locations; Collins Street, Chapel Street and Chadstone.

Lindt Chocolat Cafés are renowned for their range of inspired and divine chocolate goodies, including a Connoisseurs Collection, Delice Collection, Ice-Cream Collection and Cake Collection.

Cacao Fine Chocolates and Patisserie is another fine Melbourne chocolate establishment. Cacao Fine Chocolates and Patisserie can currently be found in four locations across Melbourne; St Kilda, Melbourne CBD, Melbourne GPO and Doncaster.

Like Lindt Chocolat Café, Cacao Fine Chocolates and Patisserie also have a wide range of awarding winning chocolate on offer, as well as Petits Gâteaux, macarons and pastries.

If you have a favourite chocolate cafe/shop in Melbourne, please let us know by leaving a comment below.

We look forward to your suggestions.

My vote is Hahndorf's Fine Chocolates. They have 9 chocolate cafes across Melbourne and Geelong & give you a complimentary chocolate when you order hot chocolate...mmm. And all locally made.

I went to San Churro today at Watergardens. It still remains my favourite hot chocolate but I think that $5.50 for a regular cup is too dear. At least this is one of those rare cups of hot chocolate that require you to wait for it to cool down a bit before drinking.
