The yummy burgers at Grill'd in Sydney
Hands up who wants a filling, juicy and flavoursome burger in Sydney? That's right many of you fellow Sydney siders would love it, and love that you all do. Burger stores are gaining tremendous popularity in areas such as the city, Darlinghurst, Bondi and Newtown to name. The difficult decision is in deciding which establishment to choose. A number of factors come into play. I want a burger that tastes great; comes with delicious chips (that don't feel too fattening, yet on the contrary are quite gourmet orientated) with fairly great customer service. I would like fresh salads and well cooked, juicy and flavoursome meat. Otherwise, for those of you out there who are vegetarians, a delicious veggie patty is a must; not just a burger choked up in salad. Sydney siders are also expecting more choice in the type of bread/bun base. Sesame seeds for many of us does not cut it anymore. No, no, no. Think sourdough and panini.
Grill'd Healthy Burgers at Darling Harbour and at Darlinghurst meets this criteria to the T. Just their standard beef burger with a slice of cheese with their snack sized serving of chips ($14 in total for all of this) is just burgerlicious magic.
My other favourite burger comes from
Blackbird Cafe at Cockle Bay Wharf, Darling Harbour. Why? Great balcony views of Darling Harbour (well Sydney is the Harbour City after all) and a cheap feed for $12 on a Wednesday night where you can enjoy their beef, bacon and cheese burger with BBQ sauce and a generous serving of chunky chips. Mix that with happy hour cocktails and drinks with friendly service, and you have a winning combination where many of you only need to survive two more working days until party time.
I was oh so close to putting Madam Char Char at Surry Hills, and Moo Gourmet Burgers at Newtown on my list, yet my recent burger experiences there were slightly disappointing. I am not going to go there.
Now it is over to you. Where is Sydney's best burger, and why? Let's have a yummy burger discussion.
