A good burger is juicy, flavoursome, and usually at least a little bit bad for you. There are some days when a burger is just what you need, but if you're going to eat one you may as well make it a good one. We're looking for Canberra's best burger, and we want your tips on finding the best. Fill us in on all of your favourite places, and tell us just why you think you've found Canberra's best burger.
Brodburger have to be a pretty strong contender. They started off as an extremely popular caravan selling burgers by the side of Lake Burley Griffen, and then became an extremely popular burger bar by the Canberra Glassworks. Their namesake burger stands out because of it's juicy and tasty patty, but their epic broddeluxe also deserves a mention. On top of your regular burgers they offer options with fish, chicken, and vegetables.
Giving Brodburger a run for their money is Grill'd. They may be a franchise store, but they still do seriously tasty burgers. They have plenty of different burger fillings, and you can choose between beef, chicken, lamb, or vegetable burgers. There are three locations around Canberra in Belconnen, Manuka, and Woden. Their burgers are made with fresh ingredients, and they're not like anything you'd find at the golden arches.
Both Brodburger and Grill'd focus on burgers, but somewhere else doing quite a trade is Smoque. Burgers aren't their main seller, for that you'd probably be looking at the ribs, but they do have some lip smacking burgers. Their burgers don't come with a regular patty, but instead you can have them with the Smoque pulled pork or brisket, or there's the vegetarian option which is stuffed full of vegetables. They're not your traditional burger, but they are pretty good.
So which burgers have caught your fancy? Have we mentioned one of your favourites? If your top burger joint is on the list, let us know, otherwise let us know which great options we've missed. We're sure there are some excellent burgers out there that we're yet to try, so we need your help to find them.
I would like a burger that's 100% beef, with no added onions or other stuff in the patty. I've eaten at Grill'd and thought it was terrible - it tasted like an oniony mix of something rather than a beef hamburger.
My Rainbow Dreams in Dickson is yummy. I like to hit them for an early lunch that keeps me going all day. Lots of variety and the place always smells good. I like dinning in so I can ponder the busy people of Dickson as they wonder by the window.
